Pakistan's First Radio Telescope.


Finally MASS  has decided to Build a Radio Telescope.

        There is a good news for radio astronomers in Pakistan. After the announcement of building Pakistan's first Optical observatory, MASS (Muslim administration of Space and Science) has decided to build Pakistan's first radio telescope. Where in neighbour country of Pakistan in India the first radio telescope was build in 1965. MASS is a new research organization in Pakistan. From a long time a team of scientists and engineers at MASS were working on the design and construction of Radio Telescope.

        In an interview the CEO of MASS Mr. Tahir Razzaq announced that all the home work is done to build a radio telescope. In the month of June 2021 construction of radio telescope will be completed and will be ready to capture signals in the month of July 2021.

        The design and detailed information of Radio Telescope is expected to be publish on this Friday 28-5-2021. It will be an array of 15 dishes each having 5 meter diameter. Initially it is designed to map the whole sky for HI (1.420Ghz) detection in deep space. Later the hardware will be able to get high bandwidth to look for other frequencies and the detection of pulsars. The dish antennas will be assemble in Lahore in the capital of Punjab.
